Keep Word as a Table (not Excel object)

If you want the Word table to remain a real Word table, not an embedded Excel object, then:

▶ You must create individual linked fields per cell.

STEP 1 — Copy a single Excel cell

Example: Copy A1

STEP 2 — In Word

1. Go to the table cell
2. Use:
   Home → Paste → Paste Special → Paste Link → Unformatted Text
   (or press Ctrl + Alt + V, then choose Unformatted Text)

Now the Word cell contains a field like:

Repeat for each cell you want linked.

Replace an entire Word table with linked Excel range (recommended for replicas)

Link Excel Cell(s) to Word Table (Real-Time Update)

This method keeps Excel as the data source. Word shows a replica of the table or cell. When Excel changes → Word updates automatically (or on refresh).

STEP 1 — Prepare the table in Excel

1. Select the exact cells you want to appear in Word.
   Example: A1:D5 → your table section.
2. Press Ctrl + C (Copy).

STEP 2 — Go to Word

1. Click where you want the table to appear.
2. Go to: Home → Paste → Paste Special...
   or press: Ctrl + Alt + V
3. In the dialog, choose:
   ✔ "Paste link", then select:
   Microsoft Excel Worksheet Object
4. Click OK.

RESULT

Word shows a linked Excel table (replica). Any changes in Excel will update in Word (manually refresh if needed).
